New MacBook Pro Details - Retina Display!

By Nick Maizlin
When Apple creates devices, it strives to achieve two main things that don’t necessarily go hand in hand - speed and thinness (perhaps with the exception of the new iPad). And so Apple has now released the next-gen MacBook Pro, a speed demon packed in a very compact casing. In fact, it may not be such a stretch as to compare the new Pro to the Air, seeing as Apple chose to remove the optical drive. On the other hand, consumers are treated with the excellent Retina display, a quad-core i7 processor and an Nvidia GeForce 650M GPU. The rest is Apple standard, with 768GB of flash storage, HDMI, SD card slot, dual microphones and Thunderbolt ports as well as USB 3.0, a standard 3.5mm headphone jack and MagSafe 2. This MacBook is said to last you a good 7 hours.
The new MacBook is now on sale for - $2,199 for a quad-core i7 clocked at 2.3GHz, 8GB or RAM and 256GB of storage. Let’s get the show rock and rolling!

There have been a lot of new iPhone mockups making the rounds over the last couple weeks, but these are the first that actually look plausible in my eyes. Looks like something Apple would do, if the rumors are to be believed.
I would actually love to own an iPhone that looked like this. Looking forward to this fall.
Well-done mocks. I love the iPhone 4/4S design, so I hope Apple keeps it this close.
Also, notice the “omnibox” in Mobile Safari…

New alleged iPhone casings appear

By Nick Maizlin
After some time of uncertainty, we are finally given what may be the real deal. Various service providers such as uBreakiFix and iFixyouri have released images of the supposed new iPhone 6 casing. Indeed, according to previous rumours, there is a smaller dock connector on the bottom – apparently to provide better and louder quality speakers – and the phone itself appears to be bigger than its predecessors. Also, the design of the device appears quite thin and it has been assumed that Apple is going back to using aluminium on the backplate instead of liquidmetal. Also, the photos provided by 9to5 Mac show that the headphone jack has been moved down to the bottom of the device, similar to that of the iPods. Finally, iFixyouri’s supplier has said that the new Apple phones will be available in more colours than just black and white.

So while some legit information has started surfacing about Apple’s next phone, they raise more questions than answers. Indeed, for all we know, all this information might have simply been about one of the earlier prototypes. But with various news sources presenting similar designs, that seems unlikely.
Google Search for iPhone and iPod Gets 2.0 Remake

By Nick Maizlin (@GhostProShark)
With the iPad version of Google Search receiving its remake last year, Google has now decided to do the same favour to the iPhone and iPod. The UI was tweaked and the use of full-screen has been integrated more thoroughly. For example, the app goes automatically to full-screen for navigation and there is a dedicated full-screen photo search. Swipes have also been added, allowing you to go back to search results. Performance speed has also been generally improved, making it faster to switch between search types as well as integrated apps such as Gmail. The only drawback is that you need to have iOS 4.2 or higher, but most of the devices nowadays are already higher up.

Apple to finally up the iPhone screen size?

By Nick Maizlin (@GhostProShark)
In keeping with the tradition to cover up anticipated devices, Apple has seen two phones in the PreEVT development stage floating around its campus. These devices, codenamed N41AP (5,1) and N42AP (5,2) respectively are kept in ‘thick, locked shells in order to disguise the exterior design to “undisclosed” employees’. Currently it is unknown as to which of the two would make it to the market. Both of these devices will have a display roughly 4 inches (3.999 to be exact). Thankfully, Apple will also be putting in some more pixels to the display, giving a resolution of 1136 x 640. The phone will have a 16:9 aspect ratio, keeping trend of the increasing phone screen sizes. Apple has also put thought to the app development process and left the horizontal screen resolution the same while increasing the vertical by 176 lines. As a result, the next iPhone will supposedly get an extra row of icons and an extended app UI. Finally, it has been heard that the new iPhone will definitely have the classic home button as well as a smaller dock connector that will simply be narrower than the regular one.

Wozniak Thinks Wonders about Windows Phone

By Nick Maizlin (@GhostProShark)
Surprise, surprise. Steve Wozniak, Apple’s co-founder never ceases to amaze us, and today he revealed his feelings about Windows Phone. Although he still uses the iPhone – two of them in fact – it does not stop him from raining praise upon WP, presumably the Lumia 900. Although previously pointing out Android’s better features, Woz seems to have partly changed his mind when receiving a taste of Windows Phone, claiming that Android is ‘no competition’ to the intuitive interface and ‘the way apps lead you around’. However, those charming features still do not prevail over Woz’s dislike of the voice control features, preferring to stay with those of Android and iOS.

June 11th is the date, WWDC is Coming!
UPDATE: SOLD OUT

A tad later than normal this year Apple’s World Wide Developer Conference will be held in San Francisco at the predicable Moscone West center from the 11th to the 15th of June. The event will as always include the many developer sessions as well as the highly anticipated Apple Keynote; this year presumably hosted by Tim Cook. Will we see the next iPhone at this years WWDC - we doubt it, however we do think we will see IOS 6 and all the new and interesting goodies it brings with. Only time will tell for certain, but for now we sit patiently pondering at the slathering of coloured squares that make up that delectable apple. Thinking to ourselves what is the hidden meaning this time around?
Update: Just about two hours after Apple posted the event on there site all the tickets SOLD OUT! More details at the source link.
